So did Trump’s FBI. Just in case you missed this very hot story, over 17 months, including time pre-COVID, the FBI paid Twitter $3.4 million dollars in staff time reimbursements to process censorship requests from the FBI.
Just in case there was any questions left about whether Twitter’s censorship was independent of carrots and sticks from the federal government, we have the answer.
Not only did the executive branch threaten social media to police accounts, it also paid them to attack specific accounts.
