If you give them your money they get stronger if you don't give them any money they wither and die. You live in the world you create.

Support local businesses, use cash or checks.

Its time to starve these corporate institutions.

I closed my Chase account a few years ago, when they started cancelling accounts of businesses they didn’t like. I now use a local bank. Of course, the best way to avoid paying high interest rates on credit cards is simply don’t over-buy on credit. Only spend within your limits and pay it off every month.

Save money by simply not spending for things you really don't NEED. in the first place... that will very shortly wind up in a landfill.

Quite Barbara. This is just one of the reasons I have closed my Amazon account - I don't want to be a consumption unit. Btw, even though I purchased "digital content" (ie., Audiobooks, Kindle books) THEY GET TO KEEP IT ALL so, we already live in the world where "you will own nothing and be happy" (not that sure if I'm happy...)

Look around you: How many do you see that you actually talk to who are truly HAPPY? The constant consumption isn't coming to an end. Since the end of the ridiculous CON-Vid lockdowns I see families spending tremendous amounts of time and money on travel-travel-travel-travel, like they're a bunch of brainless addicts. NOBODY is going to church because so many of the Protestant denominations have no problem preaching politics from the pulpit every Sunday, in a constant broken-pipe stream of never-Trump diatribes, vilifying "those people" who voted for "Orange Man BAD!" They've totally forgotten about Con-Vid, don't notice the impact it had on our lives and they believed every single one of the lies sold to them anyway. They are simply finding other things to fill their innate human need for worship, including sports, marijuana, alcohol, partying, tee vee, money, their kids, etc., etc., etc., "World without end, Amen 🙏"

They are right to be worried about backlash. People are creative. People find work arounds. If fees go up noticeably their projections for increased income from higher fees may never be realized.

Most people will just go along with the program. They shrug their shoulders and say, "oh, well, there's nothing I can do about it." They have been slowly trained to use cards, for everything, and are blind to the trap they are creating for themselves.

Troll Hunter's avatar

"...but some bank executives are worried about backlash.." Yeah. Time to get out the cash and go cardless wherever possible.

They (banks, credit card companies) work for decades to get people hooked on digital payments. Then they start raising the fees because so few use cash anymore. They (credit card users) are now mostly trapped.

You cannot switch to a cheaper provider so easily as they all start charging fees. If you are hooked on credit card usage (perhaps for many they are down to that choice to survive) you are stuck as fees eat into your ability to pay off the debts.

And then there are the interest rates which are probably going to stay high. Why is a person with an excellent credit score (above 800) still being charged 23% or 26% interest on a credit card? That is why I seldom use them or if I do, pay them down very quickly.

In the long run, the credit card companies and banks could make more money charging much lower interest as this might encourage more use by those that really don't rely on them. But at least they still over decent balance transfer programs but the only way to take advantage of them is to have hefty balances to transfer. What a racket.

They anticipate interest and leveraged lending on deposits not making enough profit going forward? Hmmm...

We live in a Godless, psychopathic world where killing millions of babies is a right, boys can be girls, and sodomy is to be blessed and supported; evil is now good & good is evil or homophobic, but most of all, the Democrats took your money and gave you fake, inflating Ponzey notes now identified by fools as Money! Well, you can call murdering babies good, boys, girls, unbacked bank notes money, BUT words mean things! A 5-dollar gold coin would buy you a very nice suit in the 30s. Today it will still buy you a very nice suit! So what changed? Fake Godless people need fake Godless [so-called] money! All the better to scam you with, my dear!

Slowly, drop by drop, the "you'll have nothing and you'll be happy" plan is being implemented.

Now it would be nice if Meryl, with her effective simplicity, described the mechanism of FIAT money (from the Latin "let it be made"...from nothing...I might add), the need to fuel the furnace of public debt with wars and the destruction of democracy.

And how all this is "paid for" by citizens in a veritable "extraction" mechanism.

A bit like when you entered a concentration camp: they removed your clothes, jewelry, hair, gold teeth, and then a coat of Cyclon B. Then it was time for the leather for handbags. Doing it before was boring because they shouted too much...

Lots of folks have educated us on fiat money. Generally I try to cover areas that others are not already educating us about, or perhaps when I think they are not doing a good enough job. I bet all my readers get it. And imho acquiring massive debt will be one of the excuses used to justify the "new financial architecture" and all digital money

Hi Meryl, I see you already know this, but I'm posting this for your readers/ followers.

The Power of jewish Private Banks/ High Finance: Rothschilds, Rockefellers & Co. Their Ultimate Goal = The Depopulation & Enslavement of the World (NWO). "All Wars Are Bankers' Wars" (Do you know that the FED/ Federal Reserve System/ The CENTRAL BANK of the U.S. & almost 200 other Central Banks are privately owned by a few jewish Philanthropists, resp.
