Hottest week ever recorded, could be the hottest July in 120,000 years. Says the Guardian.
You can't make this stuff up. Where did they measure it?

“…The Earth has not experienced anything like it since instrumental measures of air temperatures began in the 1850s, the World Meteorological Organisation revealed last week. “We are in uncharted territory and that is worrying news for the planet,” said Prof Christopher Hewitt, the WMO’s director of climate services.
This point was backed by Karsten Haustein, a research fellow in atmospheric radiation at Leipzig University. “The chances are that the month of July will be the hottest month ever … ‘ever’ meaning since the Eemian [interglacial period], which is some 120,000 years ago.”’ …
These climatologists must have gone to the Kristian Andersen school of grantsmanship.
“… According to UN secretary general António Guterres “climate change is out of control”. He warned that if the world persisted in delaying key measures needed to limit fossil fuel emissions, it would move “into a catastrophic situation”….’
It’s always catastrophic, but they never explain what is actually going to happen once that 1.5 degrees centigrade since the 1800s gets exceeded. Less than 1 degree Fahrenheit from where we are now. Will we be able to cook our meals on the sidewalk?
Someone just sent me the following (for my area) which indicates that today’s weather alarm was inappropriate, since the ocean temperature is within its usual range.
So maybe the warning was sent as a “Don’t try and have fun at the beach on a hot July day—it’s not safe” message to simply disrupt our search for simple pleasures?

So years ago I was in a museum in Munich, the young docent explained to me the artifacts I was looking at were 3 billion and 4 years old. I said how can you be so precise. He said well I started working here 4 years ago and back then they said the artifact was 3 billion years old.
