The heathen nations have been mostly overpassed by the Hand of God, but the Pagan, idol-worshiping nations were used by Him to drive home the vanity of their religious practices to the then favored people, of Israel.
(He is a "jealous God," desiring credit for His Creation and creatures.) They apostatized and were punished for having turned their spiritual backs on their well-known "Protector." It has been prophetically pointed out that America was given the position which Israel previously held but was retracted during Christ's time. She began on a solid Christian platform, but infiltrators muddied the scene and we now see the results of lies and deception. There is ONE hope to return the nation back to receiving God's Protection. Prayer by everyone, repenting of the former wicked ways, and showing sincerity by doing the will of God in a public way. It would have to be nationally endorsed and fulfilled. God would then repent Himself of the wickedness
which He holds in store for the once favored nation. Anything less would not do. So procure those conditions, and the nation will survive and thrive under the continued supervision of God and be protected from outside influences.

I've been reading Kunstler for almost 20 years. He's a wonderful writer and I always enjoy reading what he writes. Back then, he was endlessly harping about peak oil. One thing anybody who's been following him for decades will have to admit is that his predictions rarely come true. He also came off as an ultra lefty back in the day. He's done a great job repackaging himself as a populist full throated Trump supporter.
