I've puzzled over this for a while, and have concluded that even the gazillionaires can't fathom a life in which they have killed off the rest of humanity. They won't have anyone to feel superior to, no one to starve, condemn, or even give obeisance. Then, of course, they will fight among themselves. To the death, we presume.
