Under the International Health Regulations, the WHO Director-General just continued the $moneypox emergency. He can declare a Public Health Emergency of International Concern anytime.
This is a great example of how we will be subject to the whim of the WHO Director-General under the IHRs if the proposed Accord or IHR amendments pass. Expect Data-free declarations and renewals.
Current US cases are zilch. The international graphs stop last fall, when new cases fell off a cliff. Below are US data.
The IHR Emergency Committee on the multi-country outbreak of mpox held its fourth meeting on 09 February 2023. Having considered the views of committee members and advisors as well as other factors in line with the International Health Regulations (2005), the WHO Director-General determined that this outbreak continues to constitute a public health emergency of international concern and issued revised temporary recommendations in relation to the outbreak.
Yet here is how serious moneypox actually is, acccording to the moneypox team at WHO. Most of the cases were occurring in Latin America, with only 8 new cases reported outside the western hemisphere in the past week!

• In November 2022, a vaccine called OrthopoxVac was licensed in the Russian Federation for immunization against smallpox, mpox and other orthopoxviruses according to the rules for registration of medicines of the Eurasian Economic Union…

We need to quit complying in an organized way, like U.S. states and counties just withdrawing from the WHO.
“European Region” “Region of the Americas” “African Region”. No more countries once WHO is involved!
