Books might take weeks or months, depending which library had them, how long they were checked out for and if I could go wherever and check them out, or would have to wait for them to be sent.
Some, back then, too risky to see go obsolete, I'd purchase, plus buying others a particular author had used as source material. Newspaper and magazine articles were good sources too, writing to authors, put in contact with others sharing my interests, some local, some national, others international, so it was snailmail or airmail.
Meanwhile, events were unfolding and Inventions made; computers became affordable, the internet was created, memory cards/sticks, mobile phones etc, became available.
Now folk either don't think of almost the entire world's knowledge at their fingertips, don't know how to go about it, don't know how to circumvent censorship or don't know what they'll do, if research proves they are wrong, because they gullible believed the crap they were fed.
