Why did CDC do it now???

It does not go into effect till 2023; the midterms are almost here and the Dems are lagging; there is a piece here I am missing

While the info did get leaked, CDC tried to hide what it was doing until the last minute, with that lame claim by Jose Romero the day before that CDC was not putting COVID vaccines on the childhood schedule yet.

And I just looked at the AP, Politico, NYT and CIDRAP stories an it seems they are all trying to minimize concerns that this will lead to mandates in many states in order for kids to attend school.

The EUAs disappear when the emergency stops (the declarations stop, and they are being renewed every 3 months). So yes, they want to be ready for the ending of the emergency, and they want to seamlessly shift liability to the other liability shield, the Vaccine Injury Compensation Program.

But that did not seem to require any action at this time. What might require action is licensing the vaccines. Could it be possible that the FDA folk have said they won’t be issuing any more licenses any time soon? There have not been announcements that Pfizer and Moderna have filed the paperwork for licenses. Because, despite everything that has happened, legally you really cannot mandate an experimental product.

If I were the mfrs’ or government’s lawyers, I would be making sure that the transition from CICP to VICP could happen instantaneously, with no moment in time during which the mfrs and government program planners were subject to liability. Putting it on the childhood schedule is necessary to move the vaccine to the VICP. But the awards under the CICP are very small compared to the VICP, and are granted at a much lower rate (around 6% vs around 30% of petitioners), so why do the move before they have to?

Sorry for all this waffling. I hope readers might have an educated guess as to why the Biden admin just threw away millions of votes. What do they need more?
