I've heard a few of Christine Anderson's presentations, and you're correct about her. Everyone to the political right of Mao is now labeled "far right" or "N&zi" (by the "far left"?). All that remains now is to accuse them of being Putin sympathizers, as Nancy Pelosi did the other day with the pro-Palestinian protestors in the US.
IMO, the greatest peril in this practice is that it has gradually rendered the terms largely meaningless, in much the same way as other various pejoratives. Nowadays when I see such terms trotted out, it usually turns out to be either "smear politics" or just another temper tantrum by the more malicious of someone's detractors.
The European Parliament is a joke--I still can't figure out why any legitimate public figure would want to be part of it. It was probably included in the EU political structure as a simulacrum of democracy. Form without function indeed.
To me it is plain and simple projection. Even Pelosi accusing others is an accurate read of her. Her actions lead to a weaker US and a stronger Russia=Putin sympathizer, she is helping him more than US.
