They then raided a clinic in Metro Detroit that was giving IV vitamin C to first responders, who were out working during the hot zone viral illness height. As a virologist this whole bird flu in cows is irrational for two reasons: 1. Generally there are antibodies in milk. sIgA is usually passed on from mother to offspring in milk so how would there even be virus in milk if there are also antibodies present? 2. Drinking milk would not be a great concern for infection as flu is generally transmitted via the respiratory route not through the oral route. Unless of course someone decided to snort the milk....LOL
The outbreak of foot and mouth disease in the UK in 2007 was traced back to a vaccine manufacturer which was using a 1967 FMD strain in preparation for a commercial vaccine for FMD - mud from a defective wastewater line was inadvertently carried by construction vehicles to a farm infecting livestock. Makes you wonder about other outbreaks. FMD was also found in some early small pox vaccines.
It is my understanding that it was created in China decades ago and was from their biolab.
