I have long been appalled at the overuse of such consultants, as an example as occasioned here recently in my home city of only 120,000 souls, following a recent makeover of the Main Street in the CBD, our City council decided it worthy to spend a mere $90,000.00 installing two small items of play equipment (Seesaws) of the type you’d see in any child’s public play area, the costs incurred being for the 2 items purchased, installation, design and consultants fees… this for a project that in reality could and ought have been handled entirely in house ( Council ) aside from the cost incurred acquiring the actual seesaws, instead it was contracted out via Consultants to handle… including designing the Seesaws 😂😂, truly makes you wonder, akin the $10,000.00 wrenches and $50,000.00 (apiece) Airplane Rubbish Bins the U.S DoD waste money on, little wonder the U.S DoD fails audit after audit.
Makes you wonder just what the army of beauracrats employed in a dizzying number of departments, within as an example, our local council actually do, their skill sets, obviously incapable of such benign tasks and decision recommends.
