There’s so many, but my favorite Walensky moment was when she looked at the teleprompter and read something along these lines, “I’m going to stop reading the teleprompter now” and then she went on to read from the teleprompter about how afraid she was. It was so laughable. A public health official was talking about how afraid she was and it was obviously scripted but they clumsily tried to make it sound impromptu. That’s the dumbest thing I could imagine a public health official doing during a crisis but somehow people ate it up. I kept thinking man, they should have had her take a few more acting classes but she still has job so I guess she’s doing her job well enough for whomever is running this thing. No pretense of professionalism or competence.
