I've been attending a small outpost parish of the Episcopal Church near me, after I got "othered" by the eedjots at my home parish, since, having had the Wuhan strain for a total of 8 weeks starting in March of 2020, I was in no need of any quack-cine. They acted like a herd of nervous sheep one evening in June of 2021 when the rumors started flying that The News was the shots didn't actually keep them from getting sick with COVID, and then the witch hunts started.. In September of that year I got an e-mail from the choir director saying he'd found out I wasn't vaxxed and that that represented a "threat" to our frail elderly parishioners, never mind that exactly the frail elderly where THE ONES COMING INTO CHURCH SERVICES, THEN CONTACTING THE RECTOR TO LET US KNOW, A FEW DAYS LATER, THAT THEY TESTED POSITIVE FOR COVID (!!!), while I NEVER brought ANY illness into that church and even e-mailed a copy of a PCR test label proving it was negative when I was out with what turned out to be a gastritis that our physicians AND county health officials were saying was NOT COVID (!). This is how they can treat me. So I don't go there any longer. I go to the small outpost parish. It took from September 2021 until just 3 weeks ago, April of 2023, for me to get up the confidence to try out another parish. I have been very happily surprised at the number of congregants there that DO know what happened AND WE TALK ABOUT IT OPENLY during coffee hour after service! I was also playing solo violin for prelude and postlude that June day in 2021. I did bring this up to another choir member shortly after that and she didn't like it either. I agree, Eli. The oligarchs are hiding behind people they know they can stir up hate against; this is one of the benefits of allowing certain immigrants into the country. I've been attending a small outpost parish of the Episcopal Church near me, after I got "othered" by the eedjots at my home parish, since, having had the Wuhan strain for a total of 8 weeks starting in March of 2020, I was in no need of any quack-cine. They acted like a herd of nervous sheep one evening in June of 2021 when the rumors started flying that The News was the shots didn't actually keep them from getting sick with COVID, and then the witch hunts started.. In September of that year I got an e-mail from the choir director saying he'd found out I wasn't vaxxed and that that represented a "threat" to our frail elderly parishioners, never mind that exactly the frail elderly where THE ONES COMING INTO CHURCH SERVICES, THEN CONTACTING THE RECTOR TO LET US KNOW, A FEW DAYS LATER, THAT THEY TESTED POSITIVE FOR COVID (!!!), while I NEVER brought ANY illness into that church and even e-mailed a copy of a PCR test label proving it was negative when I was out with what turned out to be a gastritis that our physicians AND county health officials were saying was NOT COVID (!). This is how they can treat me. So I don't go there any longer. I go to the small outpost parish. It took from September 2021 until just 3 weeks ago, April of 2023, for me to get up the confidence to try out another parish. I have been very happily surprised at the number of congregants there that DO know what happened AND WE TALK ABOUT IT OPENLY during coffee hour after service! I have openly said within earshot of all, including the sweet little old ladies who obey every order from "authority," that I DO NOT WISH TO BE "OTHERED" AGAIN! I spent the past three years in "fight or flight" as a "dirty disease-carrying leper," and I AM NOT GOING TO LET ANYONE BULLY ME OUT OF MY CHURCH, USING PHONY SCIENCE AND A D.O.D.-DIRECTED PROPAGANDA CAMPAIGN BASED ON FEAR, NOT ACTUAL SCIENTIFIC TRUTH!!! I started going to a church in Camden, Maine, but the last sermon given by a priest I actually like included an oblique reference to "all these terrible bills directed at our most vulnerable." Unfortunately for her, I've been studying transgenderism for years and know that "most vulnerable" is trans-speak for trans-identified persons, and that she was supported the poisoning and mutilation of children's bodies. Not exactly what Jesus would find to be loving behavior!

Sorry but I must confess I do not "get" the Toni Morrison quote. Sounds to me like she was quoting a Biblical passage in reference to something for which we have no actual context here. There is the innocence born of lack of education or truthful information and then there is willful ignorance, but that is not "innocence." Anyhow, the parish where I'd been going for most of my life got a born-with-a-silver-spoon-in-his-mouth priest, hailing from a family in MA, with a degree from Yale University (of which he frequently reminds us...) who went berserk after the death of George Floyd-- which did look like it was being done by an out-of-control-with-rage police officer. The priest went on in his sermon, declaring "I'm a PRIVILEGED WHITE SUPREMACIST," or something like that.. (and considering his upper-middle-class upbringing with a Corporate Big-Wig father, I suppose that is true about him). This was during the COVID lockdowns and I was in the choir, the frontline few who sang in the church for the remote Zoom services, only six of us allowed in, carefully observing the hysterical six-feet-apart (the virus travels m-u-u-u-c-h farther than thaaat!), face-diaper-wearing idiocy. I was also playing solo violin for prelude and postlude that June day in 2021. I tell you, it was really shocking to have to listen to the deep-blue-pilled bullshit and hear how this guy was dealing with HIS white guilt. TOTALLY DISGUSTING. I did bring this up to another choir member shortly after that and she didn't like it either. This "leadership," plus the fact that that choir is essentially a Thursday Night Drinking Club, which then started conducting witch hunts to rat out the unvaxxed a few weeks later that year after the truth came out that you could get COVID in spite of being vaxxed, were the reasons I stopped going to that church, where I'd gone since age 4. I'll be getting my first pension benefit payment in a few weeks..
