Awesome reply, and you are so right, of course. Throw a human into the jungle and he/she will kill and eat animals - and plants - to survive. If we did not we would remove ourselves from the gene pool (and win the Darwin Award!) as we would essentially be too stupid to survive; and would not merit a place in gene pool moving forward. That is survival of the fittest. What is interesting is that now there are essentially 2 classes/sub species of H. sapiens sapiens. One of which should perhaps be called H sapiens electi. And , note, that this class is self-elected/created. They have "assumed" the power/ability to elevate themselves above H .s. sapiens through deceit and guile. Is this truly an evolved (sub) species of H. sapiens or is it a completely new /different species - a parasitic organism? Parasites that kill their host don't survive long , but these parasites only want to kill ~70% of us. Bottom line , H sapiens electi are Parasites. They cannot survive without us and - so far -we have allowed them to be where they are.- largely as we didn't know until recently that our species was so " infested" ;-) Now we know they exist. Time to expel them from the human gene pool! It is literally a fight for the survival of OUR species.
