They don't take any fees with the basic account (which seems perfectly adequate for the needs of most). Ko-fi uses the same payment processor as Substack (Stripe), so there is the usual Stripe fee, but that's pretty much unavoidable unless people do direct bank transfers via Zelle or a similar service.

yes, I set up several monthly recurring to Substackers thru my local credit union. if they do auto bill pay, to them, its just another bill.

GoFundMe also has a bad rep for censorship.
