Global average is a meaningless mathematical concept that is going up due to nighttime minima rising due to sensor bias from urban heat effects (edit: due to more sensors added over the years in urban areas and influencing the ‘average’) but the maximum temperatures are not going up, which is what matters. Warmer temperatures cause more co2 to be produced not the other way round, human contribution is trivial compared to other sources, and the spectrum of absorbtivity is much more limited than water vapor which absorbs far more. Finally models are only as good as the parameters and fudge that is packed into them (edit: particularly data ‘reanalysis’ which manufactures data for places where no sensors exist) - GIGO, garbage in garbage out.

Edit: I forgot to mention the sun, whose output is so large and has such a major influence on temperature that even minor changes show up. There is an analysis out there that spotted a monthly earth temperature cycle because the moon’s orbit “around” the earth put a wobble into the sun-earth distance that perturbed the Total Solar Irradiance incident upon the earth. Sun and clouds are primary drivers of earth’s temperature.

Just read recently that another variable might be at work here, related to the fading white paint on all those sensors, which over time, skews the measurements towards more warming, due to the sensors absorbing more energy.
