I cannot account for the astronauts performance in the video clip but I am speaking as the son of a mother (now 102) who worked for Grumman in the clean room during the entirely of the Lunar Module program. The team of approximately 120-150 who built the LEM certainly seemed to feel the Lunar Module did indeed land on the moon. Without going into detail of what has not been revealed before, they "customized" one of the modules for its moon landing. What they "customized" was by design in that portion of the Lunar Module that remains on the moon. It seemed to me that the clean room team wished to keep what they did to modify the LEM secret as my mother waited 50 years before mentioning it to me.
I don't think Stanley Kubrick had anything to do with the moon footage and that the allegation is humorous. The amazing moving images in "2001: A Space Odyssey" were created by a team of the worlds best cinema technicians who designed new techniques for the movie in some cases (not Kubrick alone). But if anyone is still curious, Stanley's daughter, Vivian Kubrick, might know the actual truth of her dad's alleged participation, although she was pretty young then.
