Always a plus to listen to George Carlin. Growing up, I thought he was a comedian who waxed philosophically. Then I came to realize, he was a philosopher that used comedy to get his message across!
Reminded me of this quote out of a recent Dr. Mercola article, “...to quote [Patrick] Wood's coauthor of previous books, Anthony Sutton, only 2% of people have critical thinking skills, 8% of people think they can think, and 90% would rather die than think. This willful ignorance explains why only 10% of a given population, on average, does not fall into mass formation hypnosis.”
Not sure how he surmised the 2%, but it seems reasonable.
What amazes me is how right he was and that people laughed. I'm not laughing because its so true that it's painful. George, hope things are better where you are.
