Right now the non-elected Commander-in-Chief (and his "Handlers) can't be compared to previous authorities in government who cared about America. Most of the decisions being made by this current administration have had a detrimental effect on America.

It’s always been about ‘rules for thee, but not for me’. The US has always been duplicitous, angling for whatever suited, while selling the image of the City on the Hill. All are born equal, except for women and slaves. Nukes need to be controlled, but only if we don’t have to play by the rules. WMD’s are an affront to humanity, unless we make and stockpile them. It’s only confusing if one denies the inevitable conclusion: it’s all for show, pure theater.

I find quite an irony in you calling down the US for “duplicity” for a history of enslaving women and blacks while being mum on a continent (Africa) where this dehumanizing behavior is still practiced among nations under the Islamic culture.

Did your historical clock stop before the election of Lincoln and women’s liberation?

Tfish didn't mention the way we treated Native Americans or the way we have been striping poor countries of their resources, but does that negate her valid complaints?

You could write many many books on all of the examples. The comment wasn’t intended to be all-encompassing, but I think you get that.

I do “get it.” What I can’t seem to get from those who want to punish a nation for its Original Sin what productive purpose is there in pillorying a nation that has overcome said Original Sin” while remaining mum on those nations that still practice slavery.

Are you suggesting set asides, reparations, or further entitlements for those whose ancestors may have been members of a disadvantaged cohort??

There’s no irony there. Just as there’s no shortage of examples of humans dehumanizing humans. The point wasn’t to write a treatise. The basis for Meryl’s post was about the US, specifically; thus the framing of my comment. Whatever it triggers for you, nothing you’ve noted negates the US’ track record.

Your gratuitous America-bashing has no place in this conversation. It is about the WHO ‘pandemic treaty’ which is neither a treaty nor about pandemics.

My reference to the calendar was because slavery ended in the US in 1863 with the Emancipation.

What’s your purpose in off-topic grave-digging about an era long gone and bashing a country that ended slavery over 150 years ago while being mum about much of a continent that still practices it as well as female circumcision?

Lol….

"Your gratuitous America-bashing has no place in this conversation"

Maybe read the essay again.

And no slavery didn’t end in America. Have you heard what goes on in American prisons? If not try google.

Do the crime, do the time!

If you’re opposed to punishment for crimes, you will find yourself at home in large leftwing-run cities. Please live consistent with your values and move to a city where criminals shoplift without penalty and those that exceed the $500 shoplifting limit are released from custody with no need to post bond. You will be among your peers.

Another person who has reading comprehension issues.

You do what you suggest…I’m fine.

My allusion to the calendar was to point out a salient fact to you: slavery ended in 1863 with the Emancipation.

It still continues in Africa.

Some cultures work out their issues. Others preserve them under Sharia Law.

Yes, America-bashers trigger me!

This is a deliberate political ploy. It allows the US to claim it is doing the right thing while all the time doing the wrong thing. The rest of the world is sick of it, and with internet exposing this age-old truth to anyone with access to a smartphone, the tide is turning against the US. Already for decades there were subtle sneers and eye rolls in international fora (I used to work in such institutions) whenever the US weaponised its lofty arrogant moralising rhetoric, but now the hypocrisy is too much to bear and international diplomats are simply speaking out and speaking up in no uncertain terms. Basta!

Goodness is very little to do with our war department I remember when Trump had been elected president but not sworn in yet and Obama was showing him around Washington to the various powers that be and when Trump scurried out of his military briefing he was not bombastic he was not his usual self he looked like a little boy that had been taken to the woodshed and Learned who was in charge. And of course Obama had the smirk on.

No matter how you analyze it, the least malevolent interpretation of what's going on in the world is mind-bogglingly horrifying.

We have never had the country under so much socialist/Marxist control as we do now. Parasites like the WEF, the globalists and gates have more power than ever. The Dummy is a non-factor as his de-facto A/I clone wields more power than he does. Although I fully expect that at least 1/3 of the citizens will not go along with WHO rule. Resistance might get a bit pitchfork intensive.
