There is another issue that is not obvious to the user. I went to my physician and told him that my back issue is improving since I have been using DMSO.. His response was: Tom I know that because I can smell it! You are expressing DMSO when you breathe out. It may be a problem if you are trying to attract the opposite sex.!
Yes, it's the sulfur component in DMSO. Same thing happens with garlic. It means it's working and has gone through your entire body. The Midwestern Doctor has an entire section on getting rid of the garlic breath that accompanies the use of DMSO. . It is coming from the lungs, not the throat. A couple of methods: Take 3 grams of vitamin C with it; use fresh cloves as a breath mint; try Quercetin. My husband takes it for memory issues so I live with it.
DMSO saved my dog's life, and kept her alive for 9 months, which was 2 months past her 15th birthday -- during which time she was vibrant and happy. In my view, it is quite a miracle substance. But when I started using it on my dog, I was very nervous until I had learned the protocols. It will dissolve cheap plastics and other synthetic products like nylon. It's safe with cotton, stainless steel, paper, and glass and high-end plastics.
It "freezes" (but does not expand) at 64 degrees. And it is hygrophobic -- that is, it absorbs what is around it. For instance, a friend told me it was being used on horses (very common), while the stalls were being sprayed for flies... the DMSO absorbed the insecticide and made the horses sick.
The MIdwestern Doctor is a valuable source of info on DMSO, as is the substack Unbekoming. I've printed out everything they've published on it. You can download, for free, a PDF of Amandha Vollmer's book, "Healing with DMSO."
Nylon is also a type of plastic. So is polyester, 'microfiber', and most synthetic fibers / fabrics.
Rayon, aka viscose, is a synthetic fiber made from cellulose, chemically disassembled from wood, then chemically reassembled into chains- fibers. Most 'bamboo' cloth is actually rayon viscose, with the cellulose coming from annually renewable bamboo canes, instead of trees.
Cotton, hemp, linen, ramie and other 'bast' fibers from plants are healthier choices for us and for the planet - for clothing, towels, etc. Wool, camel hair, silk, mohair, alpaca, vicuna, cashmere, pashmina, and fibers from a number of other animals are also great options. Various grades are suited for making carpets, coats, or soft clothing, or drapes, upholstery, etc. - no chemicals needed.

Yep, that garlic breath happened to me also when I was given 6x weekly urogenital bladder infusions for interstitial cystitis with DMSO solution. (20 years ago). I think it worked well to heal the bladder ulcers and I had been thinking of doing another round of infusions but had been wondering how strong is the DMSO? Now, I will double-down into my inquiry of potency.
Thanks for sharing the info about how strong it is, Meryl.
Yes, it’s powerful. Not surprised it lifted the finish. I have used it externally on 3 small skin growths with great success. Undiluted. The key is consistency, no skipping days.
I used it on a small flat new growth that was itchy and refused to heal. I was out of the country on a small island so could not access a dermatologist. I used DMSO that I had on hand as a desperate measure. Worked! Have used it since for 2 raised growths with success, again when out of country.
Yes. It is common with even small amounts on extremities ,like fingers and toes..I always feel it’s working properly if I can taste it..
I had a horse 25+ years ago, neurologically crippled, badly from EPM. THE vet threw the kitchen sink at him, including WEEKS of intravenous DMSO. I knew nothing at that time. I don’t know if it helped my poor horse. But from unable to walk, leaning on barn walls,it took 4 YEARS ,and ,he wasn’t on IV DMSO( I don’t think) after the first 6 weeks,or so .but,he became strong enough to be ridden. The day that happened,I could feel his joy when i climbed on..
I was rolling some 90% dmso on pain fingers while writing this... I'm not tasting it.
It is a very old bottle and I don’t know if it goes bad,or inert..🤔 I think I’m going to ask google.🤷🏻♀️
Mario - I use the 99% directly on my skin. It tingles, itches and my skin peels. But I don’t care, because it took away my knee pain that was causing me to wince in pain every time I took a step.
It also got rid of a skin lesion on my forehead.
I’ve never tasted it and hubs hasn’t complained about any odor emanating from me. He uses it too.
Hi Laura, may I ask how often you used the DMSO? I have a lot of back pain due to bulging discs and haven't been sure how often to use it, or even if it will help of course. I'm more than willing to use it undiluted as I have previously used 70/30 with an Aloe Vera roller on a rotar cuff tear in the shoulder and it didn't help at all. I did use it undiluted on an ingrown toenail and it cleared it up. It kept coming back every 6 months or so requiring a visit to the podiatrist for years but no more. Amazing!,
Jennifer - I used it daily. Sometimes more than once a day. It took about a week before I got complete relief. I was careful to use only on clean skin.
Oh wow that was quick! Thank you so much Laura. I really appreciate you letting me know. Hearing of others successes can be a good gauge sometimes. All the best.
I get the roll-on. 70/30 with either aloe or frankincense. Can also get it undiluted. And yes, A Midwestern Doctor has written many articles on DMSO. Robert Yoho has compiled all of them into a kind of book. The history is quite educational. How the evil FDA decided to ban its' use due to the impact (negative) it was having on big Pharma. Not much has changed there has it?
We’ve been using it for several months now. Castor base then dropper of DMSO to the affected area. Works great. I started using it after full knee replacement in November. Significantly reduced discomfort and pain. My husband felt sharp pain in his right hip preventing him from laying on his right side. He began using it in a 99% cream each night. Day three he was able to lie on that side! Paint stripper or not….. it works!🙂💃🌻🕺🏾
That's not mold. That is the remainder of the paint on the painted cabinet that did not get dissoved by the DMSO. The DMSO revealed the wood that is under the paint. Read, bro.
it is cheaper, BUT not approved for human use, you can only 'damage' your horses and dogs with it, while treating their cerebral edema or reducing their arthritis pain, etc... While using this product for my back I dropped very tiny amount on the tile in bathroom. Later on I noticed black tiny patches on the tile.. It appears that DMSO dissolved little bit of my house shoes, while sprinkling around. BUT, the patches, went away with the same DMSO:))
That brand may be available at Tractor Supply in the equine section. It was in a bottle with a cap that can dispense small amounts Find the gel residue hard to remove. Also a stronger odor. But happy it was available while working away from home and had left dmso roll on at home. Definitely a better price for horses.
Been using the gel now for 2+ years, no real side effects except for slight tingling, itchy sensation on the skin, small price to pay for the good it does for my back!
the very same product 99.99% DMSO helped me to get rid of some very strange occasional acne on my face, for good. Took quite an amount, ~(0.5 -1ml) to cover both sides..
Btw. any implants of non-metallic origin will be affected..
I rubbed it on my knee for a few weeks and it worked great starting immediately. I think it reduced the constant swelling inside my knee and which had been pressing up against the nerves that run through the knee. It's old injury that flared up 1 year ago. I had an intermittent knee ache that went away with the DMSO plus a pins and needles feeling that went away. But one thing to watch out for is that a drop of it got on my sock and made my skin very red in that area for 1 or 2 full days. Someone here says it dissolves nylon which was in my sock. So now I am very careful in applying it. I only put it on my knee right after my shower - but only after I put on my underwear and shorts so that I don't have to pass my leg through the holes in my shorts and touch the DMSO that is still absorbing. It takes about 15 minutes to absorb into the skin and then after that I go to bed and it is dry and does not get on my sheets. I put a thick layer of it all around my knee - I did it every night for the past 4 weeks and my knee is better than ever during that time. I'll gradually reduce my usage of it. I use the full strength bottle shown in the image from Meryl Nass. I used a sharp point from sharp scissors to poke a hole in the top of it. You don't need to poke a hole in the very center, just poke 1 or 2 holes in the deeper part of the clear plastic stopper which is underneath the black bottle cap. And then you make sure you don't fling drops of it around when applying it - you dont want nylon or similar to interact with those drops along with your skin. Have a paper towel ready to wipe up any drops that land in areas that might touch your clothing along with your skin. Rubbing on my elbow or arm made it somewhat red temporarily - but maybe I should have only applied it there after a shower? My knee doesn't get red from it (but maybe it did in the beginning on the first few days I used it, I forget) - especially after getting past the first few days of applying it.
Apparently, DMSO is related to turpentine, and the former is a solvent, so I'm not surprised. (I even have a feeling that it's also related to pycnogenol (pine bark extract that is also supposed to be very good against ailments), too. That's one of the reasons that it's a very good idea to follow-up application of DMSO with something else such as organic aloe vera gel and/or organic castor oil, etc. As you no doubt know, it is VERY IMPORTANT to be VERY CAREFUL what one combines with DMSO, and/or what one previously used on their hands before applying it, because it carries whatever is on the "applicator", or what chemicals are in it, deep into the bloodstream. So, if there are cancer-causing chemicals on the hands or another applicator, DMSO will make them be absorbed into the body even more than they would be otherwise. I used some DMSO earlier today, and followed it with aloe vera gel, which also alleviates DMSO's extreme skin-drying property(ies). It sucks moisture out of the skin.
DMSO is a perfect solvent which already defines a potential danger: it will dissolve anything on the skin and draw it down. But for metabolism it's a powerful catalyst (provided you're not allergic to it) and since using it my physical condition noticeably improved. It also provides rapid ease when stung / bitten by insects: rubbing in a little DMSO after a mosquito sting eliminates the itching in minutes and prevents swelling for a great deal. Not long ago I didn't notice the scorpion who had crept in a shoe and the sting was rather painful. But applying DMSO to the spot eliminated the pain in a few hours and the next day it was gone. One has to experiment for optimal intake (starting slow and increasing till no further improvement) which in my case is between 5-10 g / day. Don't use more than 10% DMSO in a drink.
It’s powerful biologically compatible solvent much more powerful than water. Also be careful remove makeup and other chemical on skin since DMSO will materially increase the absorption of those chemicals. Drinking alcohol is big no no. Wait 5 days after stopping DMSO to drink alcohol, a toxin.
Ivermectin yes but I would not suggest Doxycycline. Doxycycline is an antibiotic like Tetracycline. The acne will disappear at the surface but will come back as soon you stop taken it.
Also, antibiotics, particularly broad-spectrum antibiotics kill off beneficial bacteria in the gut as well as the bacteria that they are intended to destroy to clear infections.
If possible, it is better to avoid antibiotic to save our gut. Organic Burdock Root seems to work well against acne. Perhaps it could do the same for an epidermoid cyst. At least, try first.
Doxy can be a long term ance care and really clears the skin besides acne, I've used it for those skin cancers they used to freeze off before the cutting everything open phase started in dermatology skin care if I recall. Inulin is a good prebiotic, organic of course for daily use when taking doxy long term for skin.
DMSO is an industrial cleaner. Sounds to me like it did what it is supposed to do on your storage chest. Sorry to hear it damaged the chest. I am careful where I put the jars and bottle after use so I don't damage anything. It has saved my trick knee, is good for tooth aches and recently I used it for the last week on my sinuses and they have cleared right up, no restriction in there at all now.
I have also used it on an area treated with radiation in 2000. There were 3 large tumors on my leg just above the ankle. The skin in treated area remained darker in color and there were 2 spots that never healed, just scabbed over, scab fell off and it bled, rehealed. Started puting just a dab of DMSO on it. It is now normal skin color, healed after just a year!
There is another issue that is not obvious to the user. I went to my physician and told him that my back issue is improving since I have been using DMSO.. His response was: Tom I know that because I can smell it! You are expressing DMSO when you breathe out. It may be a problem if you are trying to attract the opposite sex.!

Your pee smells funky too.

I’m hungry!
The upside is it may keep you from finding trouble.

Right! that was the design
DMSO is a powerful solvent so no surprise here really. It also dissolves plastic, hence it always comes in glass bottles.
actually this company sells 99% DMSO in animal food stores in PLASTIC bottles:

Could one use DMSO if they have a titanium implant in an ankle joint? TIA--I have heard yes, and also, no, when researching.
Hasn't affected mypacemaker yet.
Tell us what does careful mean in the context of DMSO use? Find your admonition a bit facile TBH.
Of course If you apply DMSO on a “dirty- creams on” skin it will carry stuff on the skin into the body.
be very very careful with DMSO CARRIES EVERYTHING IT TOUCHES INTO YOU BODY
Use common sense, clean the area first, let DNSO dry before putting clothes on.

Thanks, got Aloe so will start using it. DMSO does dry the skin a bit.
I wuz hoping DMSO would make me smart, attractive, good looking and rich. Didn't werk.
lol😊

Explain?
I've been treating an epidermoid cyst on my face with DMSO and Iodine several times per day for years.
I still live in hopes of outlasting it!
If it's not working after few years, perhaps you should try something else. Try Burdock root.
Thanks! Will do.
Try ivermectin orally and topically both with doxycycline too, all safe.

Thank you. It is good to know your experience.
Thank you for your concern.
Much appreciated.
Anything you may have on your skin (lotion, grime), is carried into your body by DMSO. It should only be applied to clean skin.
