The pod has been used extensively by the USAF for outfitting drone aircraft for over 22 years, and you can clearly see it in (4) of the amateur videos- just before impact, with tower # 2.
But what was directing them? Could it have been an influence from outside? I believe I have heard of a message from a woman was about to board the plane to her husband, where she says she suspects foul play, and says goodbye to him.

She seems to spend a lot of time not on military duties but social obligations. 450 hrs flying time since 2019, comes to < 2 weeks/year. Who knows if she flew at all in 2024. She had an instructor with her, if she was doing something wrong, the instructor usually takes over.

The pilot can become unconscious and unable to maneuver the plane, a sitting duck for the enemy to shoot. But a remote controlled wingman that can survive as much acceleration as the aircraft itself, puts a new twist on dogfighting.
Of course the downside of remote control is it is totally dependent on communications. A successful hack of the remote control system could enable the enemy to use the plane against us.

And what would be the purpose of such a remote helicopter hijacking operation? The airplanes of 9/11 were taken over and remotely controlled because the "hijackers" on board could not fly planes, let alone fly them into targets, let alone perform the extraordinary maneuvers needed to impact the Pentagon just as they did. This is the first major midair collision on US soil since an Aeromexico Flight 498, a DC-9, hit a small civilian Piper in Southern California on August 31st 1986 - killing all 82 passengers, crew, and residents of Cerritos CA. The likely causes this horrific accident are now pointing toward the 28 year old 500 hour pilot, Captain Rebecca Lobach, who was apparently at the controls of the PAT- 25 H-60 helicopter with only allegedly taking a competency check ride with Chief Warrant Officer Andrew Eaves, 39, who was evaluating her and had only about 1,000 hours. These H-60 pilots failed to 'see and avoid' the American Eagle CRJ traffic called out by Washington Tower after stating that they had the traffic in sight. Clearly, the H-60 crew did not have the traffic in sight, failed to steer left as directed to pass behind the CRJ, failed to fly at or below the REQUIRED 200' MSL, MAXIMUM altitude on the helicopter route, and are responsible for the deaths of all 67 people who lost their lives on January 29, 2025 at approximately 2054 EST. The ATC controller passed the full responsibility of in flight separation at night to a helicopter crew whom he saw never make any heading changes to avoid the American Airlines aircraft. This situation was completely avoidable and many regulatory changes must be implemented immediately to protect the flying public from the dangers of military training missions. My heart and prayers go out to all 67 people who lost their lives in this horrible aviation tragedy. May this never - EVER happen again.
That is a good explanation, but other experts in the field have claimed there is no way 2 pilots could miss that plane, it stuck out like a sore thumb. They do have skills you know, or they'd be crashing right, left and center in combat under poor visibility conditions.
