Without those elements, we are all just engaged in a long drawn-out instance of memory holing the whole affair. Big pharma and the great monolithic beast of administrative agencies have incentive to wait us out. It is hard to maintain critical mass moving forward without true momentum towards accountability. But hearing one of Meryl’s recent speeches and understanding that the boards can’t persecute us all, I’m feeling a sense of increased freedom for my speech. I’m not necessarily feeling like my colleagues are so open, it is strange to be so much in “both worlds.”
Appreciate your candor. I think one of the most difficult elements of fighting back against captured government regulatory agencies and corporations that are in bed with politicians, is getting those in a profession or calling to truly understand and TRUST that there is strength in numbers.
When I pushed back at the state and local level against Gates influence in our classrooms with his “reform” efforts meant to digitize education—I developed an incredible network of concerned teachers in the trenches who would provide me critical information and explain how bad the effect of the policies pushed on them from the tech sector were and the negative impact on students. I would then use the information to challenge at the local and state level those who were proponents of the poor policies paid for by Gates et al.
I was often frustrated because teachers were afraid to come forward—-fear of losing their job, being targeted, social connections lost, etc. My thought was always….there is strength in numbers. If the teachers stood together then they could not be touched and the profession might stand a better chance of reforming itself towards what actually works in engaging students effectively.
We need doctors to understand the same thing…..all the doctors keeping their heads down and not rocking the boat need to discreetly organize and then use their inherent power to push back against those controlling their profession with unreasonable and unethical dictates. After all, hospitals and big pharma will take a hit if the doctors walk out and in so doing publicly and proudly state their reasons for doing so….placing the blame where it belongs. The time is now. And while some will say….”what about the patients in herd today?” I agree that is a concern. But we must also consider the patients of tomorrow, our youth, our humanity and future generations….do you really think a wood n which AI is the doctor and you go online to diagnose yourself with algorithms is a world worth living in?

I was following Ivor Cummins ( a diet, covid, WEF/WHO good guy!) and Dave Feldman ( cholesterolcode.com) and Dr Paul Mason, Dr Nadir Ali and the low carb conference people. He was like an annoying troll, so if this is him ( seem to remember him having a big brown beard) I’m not surprised he’s at it again. If he’s a medical student then he’s a mature one, he’s no spring chicken.

If the teachers stood together then they could not be touched and the profession might stand a better chance of reforming itself towards what actually works in engaging students effectively.
We need doctors to understand the same thing…..all the doctors keeping their heads down and not rocking the boat need to discreetly organize and then use their inherent power to push back against those controlling their profession with unreasonable and unethical dictates. After all, hospitals and big pharma will take a hit if the doctors walk out and in so doing publicly and proudly state their reasons for doing so….placing the blame where it belongs. The time is now. And while some will say….”what about the patients in herd today?” I agree that is a concern. But we must also consider the patients of tomorrow, our youth, our humanity and future generations….do you really think a wood n which AI is the doctor and you go online to diagnose yourself with algorithms is a world worth living in?

maybe the author's feelings are genuine but his piece is being used to fill in some of the cracks in the narrative. the past 3 yrs have made us all so jaded (for better or worse).
that Oster broad though... her piece still screamed condescension. it was no kind of genuine, just self-serving.

I joined Twitter in 2019 as I wanted to get all the latest science papers and people’s takes on them for dietary advice regarding keto for brain health and general health and paleo for autoimmunity and low carb etc. I was shocked to see how nasty everyone was on Twitter ( good preparation for what was to come) but I’m sure I remember an obnoxious person with the name Kevin Bass who argued nastily with everyone. I was following Ivor Cummins ( a diet, covid, WEF/WHO good guy!) and Dave Feldman ( cholesterolcode.com) and Dr Paul Mason, Dr Nadir Ali and the low carb conference people. He was like an annoying troll, so if this is him ( seem to remember him having a big brown beard) I’m not surprised he’s at it again. If he’s a medical student then he’s a mature one, he’s no spring chicken.
Kevin Bass just tweeted, BTW, that the doctors and scientists who attended the conference in Sweden are "not good doctors."
Oh, and he should know???
