"Who controls the past controls the future"

Quote from George Orwell's 1949 novel, "1984."

By the way, I have been wearing this Orwell 84 T recently: t.co/EKkMWeTAPG

Don't really get it.

Generations repeat the same mistakes again and again.

Learn from history or suffer.

Rising tyranny and tyranny always fly the same flags.

Suppression of free speech is essential to maintain tyranny.

They just don’t give up, do they? Noticing that this is all happening in lockstep is key… the globalist cabal is scurrying desperately to protect their own hides.

"Hate speech".....Another wholly ambiguous term designed by the "controllers" with the dual purpose of creating distraction and division amongst the masses as well as a means to empower the upper echelon of habitual liars.

Kathy Hochul seems to be destined to continue to come up with ideas guaranteed to chase off all of the city's upscale tax base until if becomes the largest ghetto in the US, subsisting on federally-supported section 8 (or whatever they are calling it now) housing occupied by illegal immigrants.

This does seem to be a pattern, if the Feds cannot get it passed then the progressive states are charged with the task,c from EV mandates, gun control, free speech, "green" energy, farming, fishing, education ,open borders everything is under assault.

All infringement by the government on speech is illegal and immoral. The antidote to offensive speech is more speech not less. Only the thin skinned and spineless need government to moderate public conversations among freely consenting adults.

Meryl, its time we stand as one in our nation for truth, democracy, and freedom we once had.

The time is near we silence all evil and put the real misinformation that supports the greatest medical malpractice of all time.

We can't fear anymore misinformation that continues to destroy our freedom and our country.

We will Trump all evil into the next generation so our children will have a better chance than 2020 and beyond.

Full steam ahead Meryl.

The First Amendment spells out... the Right of Free Speech, which is given to every American...as long as it is not harmful. Censorship is anathema or forbiiden in this country.. Those who try to do this must be removed from their positions. Don't we have a Supreme Court or others in our government, whose duties are making sure the Law of the Land, our Constitution is followed? The United States all 52 must adhere to the Constitution.

My tin foil hat notes that this censorship of “hate” speech which appears to be anything TPTB deem it to be or outside the “acceptable narrative” of the day seems to be the big push in every western country right now. Does anyone with a functioning brain still believe that this is purely coincidental and not a coordinated effort to quash free speech in the name of “saving” democracy? When what we are being fed makes no sense, it’s probably not good for our health and safety.

Thanks for this valuable update.

I'm curious why you say Musk "is the only major social media mogul who has shown staunch resistance to acts of censorship."

I follow intellectual freedom/suppression issues closely. For an entire year now, it has been clear that X even if (and that's a big if) it has "resisted acts of censorship" by an outside actor, is completely committed to ITSELF engaging in undisclosed censorship, "de-amplification" of accounts per its subjective "terms", and explicit policies such as "freedom of speech, not freedom of reach".

It does not seem like a good idea to redefine "free speech" conditions as that which currently obtain on X. Nor should Musk's actions be redefined as those of a intellectual freedom warrior. That would be a gross twisting of the facts of the matter.

Robert Kogan wrote about the situation here: https://edv1694.substack.com/p/on-the-death-of-x-some-random-reflections and I did here: https://jenswanndowney.substack.com/p/we-are-being-trained-to-perceive

As RFKj has said, & we must all keep saying:

in every period of history where there was censorship, the censors were NEVER the good guys.
