Actually, I had hoped that by sending emails with titles, readers could choose what not to open. I have never sent so many as today. I agree it seems excessive, yet a large number of people open them, leading me to think most appreciate the titles allowing them to choose.
Small fluctuations whether real or not. You should have 20M reading. It's a long road but even if only 20K and they each influence 1 or 2 then the idea grows exponentially. Important thing is to live and practice the idea, then it gathers power as well as numbers.
Here's something I've been seeing. I will get a notice that someone replied to a comment of mine. I read their comment and go to like it. Nothing comes up. I have actually searched the entire list of comments and their comment is nowhere to be found. Also, no deletions are found. This seems VERY odd to me.
same thing happened to me on another platform on 5/1/20, same day i was shadowbanned by google. traffic supposedly tanked by 99%. yet subscriptions continued to rise. how is that possible?
For the past year, on and off I have been unsubscribed or/and blocked from several of the writers I subscribe to, most recently this past week. Also, my email service, Comcast occasionally but regularly blocks me from receiving posts from some in Substack, though, not all. Weird. I'm always on alert and follow the pattern of postings by various people so I recognize when this might be happening. I've had to resort to putting some of the biggest "troublemakers" into my email address book, so they are not sent to spam, and regularly do test emails from individual substack windows. So tiresome, annoying and sneaky but a sign of our times.
I just wrote a lot about the problems I encounter, however the comment window closed itself, comment gone. Not trying again right now, was a long post.
SS stats are sporadic. It would look more fishy if the paid subscribers did not go up. Sometimes I notice paid subscribers showing up and then briefly disappearing before appearing again. The free subscribers, it could just be churning if you put out more articles than normal in that time period.. If you do not already, make sure you regularly download your subscriber list just in case.....
Hey, all you DoD, FBI and CIA kiddies workin' for the Zuck, "Big Pharma Billy" and Uncle Klaus: for your damned paycheck and pension you get paid to destroy your own freedoms? And all you military kiddies following immoral orders have no problem poisoning your own world? Does your mother know what you do for a living? You know that YOU won't be here, either, in the next ten years?
Nefarious or incompetent? Although I get most of my news now from Substack, mostly because it is censorship free (mostly, as far as I know), I always had in the back of my mind the idea that this kind of information freedom won't be able to last in this censorship-pervasive environment. I hope that never happens, but the forces trying to stifle honest and free discourse are many and powerful.
paid subscribers were up by about 25, while totals went down. Only about 2% of subscribers are paid, so I would have suspected total subscribers to increase by about 500, not drop.
I have wondered about substack and the “protection”, or not, from manipulation of the numbers and comments. Wonder if any of the other truth tellers are noticing this?

I appreciate and look forward to everything you send......it's a gift.....
Titles are important. Yours are short and to the point. Works for me.
Thank you for all you do and for all you have sacrificed on our behalf.
I hope Substack is a censorship and hacking free platform. We need forums with integrity. I noticed Glenn Greenwald just moved to Locales…
Which one is GG?
Glenn Greenwald. All my favorite docs are on SS, not sure why GG migrated but could have been trouble with the streaming for his nightly news.
Thanks.....

I've been experiencing a lot of problems with comments not loading.
Also many issues with comments not nesting properly either.

Sounds familiar from Twitter.
Ahhh, they're taking Twit lessons.

Feds are probably involved.

This has happened to me, too, but not today.

You're able to see your actual subscribers?
Yes, but I don't know how to manipulate the list to see who is coming and going. This is a good thing about substack.
Yes
The slow silencing. I just don't think it is going to work for them because they'd literally have to show a massive fascist face to the world.
there have been many complaints about substack subscriber issues. Rollover subs is one of them. Steve Kirsch was also having major troll issues.
I always look forward to reading your emails. Stats are not my specialty but please keep the emails coming.

btw.. Troll Hunter is one of my favorite movies👍
I don't watch movies-- I MUCH prefer creating my own scene 😉👌

I joined as a paid subscriber a few days ago so number should be up.

Thanks Ellen. More $ for the legal defense fund!

Kind of...I've the comments sometimes don't load in specific articles in the reader app.
Not to invalidate what you are looking at, but the variation may be in the range of "subscribers vs un-subscribers."
