The myth of pandemic preparedness: My testimony to the House Committee on Government Reform on responding to bioterrorism (after the 2001 anthrax letters)
This disappeared from its old site... but remains equally relevant today, as our governments prepare to spend untold billions more on the elusive 'pandemic preparedness' which is really a pipe dream.
Can we afford to spend another taxpayer dime on these unsolvable boondoggles of unworkable centralized solutions (aka “pork”)? Draining working class dollars for “biosecurity”may ultimately be another crime against humanity, as the Covid response has taught us. Even using grants to localized apolitical community organizations that allow self-organizing efforts to provide the best on-the-ground solutions, should the need arise, would require careful scrutiny.
