i understand this, the seeming conflict. i support this kind of resource sharing. it's not sustainable for everybody to have to own everything themselves, and it's important to support the idea of community, as well. it's isolating for everybody to try to be completely self sustaining.

Where I am in Western North Carolina they nailed us over Christmas 2022 with 9 degree F temperatures to remind us who's in charge. The things they do with our tax dollars are just beyond the pale.
