bovaer is bad bad stuff. we can thank bill gates for that poison. "3-Nitrooxypropanol and is being sold under the brand name Bovaer by the company DSM-Firmenich AG to which none other than Bill Gates has donated a whopping $5,346,859. Research has found that this chemical could be TOXIC to DNA and that is was found to be very toxic to sperm production in rats. To make matters even worse, it decreased the ovary size on cows when given in high doses. Researchers also found that farmers should probably have to wear masks when handling this additive because it is so toxic if inhaled, but we are being told it’s safe to give to cows in the food supply?

[cows fed a normal grass diet don't have gas issues. if you subsisted exclusively on beans and corn, you'd have gas too]

Look at gates. He looks like a chemical cocktail.

Get subsidies out of CAFO and large mono crops. Subsidize regenerative agro instead.

We don’t need innocuous congressional hearings on non issues.

We need food that is free of dangerous additives meant to prolong shelf life rather than to prolong human life.

Crony corporate profits must not determine our health outcomes.

The list is long! So many food manipulations are responsible for our ill health.

I recall that George Keller, president of Keebler Cookie Company telling me years before they were bought out, bragging that they made made the best belly fillers in the USA.

The cookies, looked good, tasted good and had NO NUTRITIONAL value. At that time, I wanted to punch him in the mouth for his disregard for the harm that they were creating. I restrained myself because I didn't want to lose my job to feed my family!

While I am not into food additives I am also not fundamentally against food preservation. Food preservation has been done for as long as people have dried, fermented and salted food.

Gamma radiation destroys enough proteins to kill pathogens, it is probably not good for the food value as it will break chromosomes and proteins, cooking in a sense but it does not leave any radioactive residue.

Pasteurisation destroys proteins to kill viable cells, the same way cooking does so it can be thought of as precooking, the high temperature methods may be less healthy but they are used because it is FASTER=cheaper and does not change the flavour as much.

Pressure treating seems like a handy way of killing pathogens that does not denature many of the flavour chemicals by heating. Obviously the pathogens are no longer viable so we loose their bad AND GOOD effects and there may be broken proteins in the same way cooking breaks proteins.

So out of all the preservation methods I would choose those that do NOT ADD chemicals and would prefer those that in essence pre-cook the food enough to kill pathogens and seal the product well enough to prevent new pathogens from contaminating it.

The alternative is to refrigirate or freeze the products but these require a cold chain that costs money that not everyone can afford or drying that costs energy and changed the flavour and can make food preparation harder.

So I do not think it is fair to paint non-chemical food preservation with the same brush as various antimicrobial products.

Oh, I just remembered that many fresh products are also preserved under inert gas (Nitrogen) so they do not spoil, this is technically a chemical but mostly safe as air breathing pathogens cannot survive, however some anaerobic ones might and if it is a bag of lettuce the lettuce might make oxygen from photosynthesis and feed some pathogens.

This is a baby/bathwater discussion, it is nuanced.

Some philanthropists invest in or donate to movie companies that produce films with social impact or that align with their philanthropic goals. For example, Jeff Skoll, the founder of eBay, has a film production company called Participant Productions that focuses on creating entertainment that inspires and accelerates social change / Bill Gates too has invested in Participant Productions. Participant Productions focuses on films with mind-influencing topics to do with our current times. The Participant Production Documentary 'FOOD,INC.2' is about the failure of our foodsystems. Like all B.-Gates related connections, it offers no real 'healthy' solution. On the contrary the documentary advices to 'Reduce your meat + dairy consumption'.

The website is shiny and done in a super cool design. 'Woke' style.

Most people will believe the messages sent out by these movie production houses.

Another concern is flavorings. Whether artificial, “natural,” or “organic,” my understanding is that they are not good for you, and they are in so many things!

Today, it is all well and good to read food labels, consume non-GMO, organic food and make food purchases from small, local farmers, but not all consumers can afford this. Big industry food additives coupled with Gates Foundation overreach has become a non-stop force culminating in deleterious outcomes for the American Public. Recently, USA Farmers were told they cannot sell their GMO corn to Mexico! Why? Corn is Mexico's carbohydrate staple and Mexico has witnessed the deterioration in US health since consuming GMO corn and other GMO food stuffs. The American Public is in dire need of a Robert F. Kennedy, Jr. or similar individual who will re-establish control and proper oversight of our food industry. It is time that oligarchs like the Gates Foundation and industrial power-players like Archer Daniels Midland are not only challenged but defanged and controlled. The societal alternative with its outcomes is unacceptable.

Avoid adulterated foods! Don't waste money on processed foods. You are paying for food that have no nutritional value, except calories. Buy produce at Farmer's market or health food markets that sell organic produce. Do't buy processed foods. You will avoid all the chemicals, additives, pesticides and preservatives in processed foods. There is nothing of value in processed foods sitting on the shelves in supermarkets.. You are paying for bad health. . You will pay dearly in the long run with serious health issues and suffering. It's cheaper and healthier to eat at home.

Re: Gate's Apeel food coating: Gras Application by Apeel that contains gov't required lab analysis, assumptions, etc.:

https://www.fda.gov/media/135999/download

The document is necessarily highly technical. I found it helpful on page 16 and beyond. E.g.:

"Table 3-5. Maximum Daily Exposure Limits for Residues in a Mixture of Monoacylglycerides Derived from Grape Seed Residual Manufacturing Limit (ppm) Daily Exposure Limit (mg/person/day)*

Ethyl acetate 21,000 4.58

Heptane 23,000 5.01

Palladium 10 0.0022

Arsenic 3 0.00065

Lead 2 0.00044

Cadmium 1 0.00022

Mercury 1 0.00022

* – The daily exposure limit is calculated based on the total amount of monoacylglycerides derived from grape seed that are consumed by a high-end consumer (218 mg/person/day)." [Note: "are consumed" = are assumed to be consumed. No mention of expected consumption by Vegetarians...nor of synergistic or compounded effects.]

On another page, they assert safe limits based on projected consumption by age groups.
