Historically, our food was grown relatively organically - which meant a fair degree of spoilage. Things really took off in the mid-1960s with new advances in chemistry/food prep and people's demand for convenience. If one looks at today's labels they will find an assortment of shelf-stabilizing chemicals and other assorted additives (none of which are beneficial to the human body). Thus, we have gone from a relatively fit society to one filled with couch-potatoes and chronic diseases (obesity, diabetes, etc). Many have addressed the situation with exercise but still fuel themselves with junk food. In response to our being a society of unhealthy people, Big Pharma (which controls the FDA) saw the opportunity to provide meds the alleviate (more like mask) the underlying problems. Today we have a medical system that addresses symptoms as opposed to the underlying issues - which are mostly compromised immune systems (that manifests itself as organ inflammation). This compromise is in large part due to what we put in our bodies. And the cycle continues. As an aside, vaccines - not that they do not provide value but it appears that the number recommended by Big Pharma has more negative impact than being helpful. Today, and average kid can be subjected to 20-50 vaccines before 18 and I have yet to see ANY study (outside of Big Pharma) that say they work or mitigate disease. Funny how kids in the 1950s-60s only got 3 (maybe 4) shots and they are still here. Again, the key is the immune system. Until we address maintaining the immune system,,,nothing is going to change. All that you put forth is good but it misses one major element IMHO...we as a people have to get back to basics. Good, natural food and working on the immune system. For too long our lives have been dictated by Big Food, Big Pharma, and Big Government (which is in the hip pocket of these two industries). First Big Food...It wasn't until WW2 that we say the introduction of preservatives into our food (we were shipping food to support the war effort over great distances). Historically, our food was grown relatively organically - which meant a fair degree of spoilage. Thus, the food industry looked for novel ways to not only reduce spoilage but lower costs with assorted preservatives. Things really took off in the mid-1960s with new advances in chemistry/food prep and people's demand for convenience. If one looks at today's labels they will find an assortment of shelf-stabilizing chemicals and other assorted additives (none of which are beneficial to the human body). Thus, we have gone from a relatively fit society to one filled with couch-potatoes and chronic diseases (obesity, diabetes, etc). Many have addressed the situation with exercise but still fuel themselves with junk food. In response to our being a society of unhealthy people, Big Pharma (which controls the FDA) saw the opportunity to provide meds the alleviate (more like mask) the underlying problems. Today we have a medical system that addresses symptoms as opposed to the underlying issues - which are mostly compromised immune systems (that manifests itself as organ inflammation). This compromise is in large part due to what we put in our bodies. And the cycle continues. As an aside, vaccines - not that they do not provide value but it appears that the number recommended by Big Pharma has more negative impact than being helpful. Today, and average kid can be subjected to 20-50 vaccines before 18 and I have yet to see ANY study (outside of Big Pharma) that say they work or mitigate disease. Funny how kids in the 1950s-60s only got 3 (maybe 4) shots and they are still here. Again, the key is the immune system. Until we address maintaining the immune system,,,nothing is going to change.
