I just realized that 21 weeks is 5 months plus one week. 4 weeks is one month. My God a 5 month old fetus is totally a human infant as is 1 month. And believe you me, I understand how an unwanted pregnancy can reek havoc in a woman's life. Yet, unless the mother's life is as stake, save the child.

I have compassion, especially for the teens and the unwed who are terrified of the consequences of having sex outside of marriage. We need to do better, as a whole, as a society. This isn't the responsibility of the government, but yet we need some oversight in order to also protect the unborn. We also need to give the fathers more rights. This is not only a "woman's issue. They have to go to another province and pay out of pocket. Indigenous women in the north can't have their babies in their own communities but have to be flown to southern cities to live away from their older children, friends and families for the last six weeks of their pregnancies, because there are no hospitals, doctors, midwives or NICU where they live. But I kept my mouth shut.
