These believers think Trump wants to be a dictator, and base that on Heritage Foundation 2025 goals documents, and that he'll put dissidents into concentration camps. People with advanced degrees believe this. They think the Republicans, the Christian Nationalists, the deplorables, fill in the blank, want a dictator. I got into a shouting match about this just yesterday, which is totally useless, but it is a cult, a carefully sophisticatedly crafted cult, all cracks sealed up daily, and one of the signs is that they will not actually read anything that disagrees with their position as it is a "rabbit hole," a "conspiracy theory" etc. only that is just like the Moonies. I ended up yelling "so you probably believe in the single bullet now too right?" Not something that can be debated. They won't believe anything different until their supposed superior sources say it (NYT, Wapo, etc.) But it is so surreal and weird that they've got them bamboozled.
Yep! I suggested to my bro that they're going to replace biden before the election...he guffawed! Why would they do that, he asked, biden is our best hope! He actually bet me $50 that wouldn't happen, to which I replied that I can't take his money on such a sucker bet. He insisted...so be it. He then suggested that if that were to happen, that Pete Butt would be a fantastic replacement! Truly, the cult is all encompassing.
My question to them: what did trump do his first time around that was tyrannical/dictatorial? The only responses I get are: RAYSIST, HOMOFOBIC...with absolutely nothing to back it up. He also KNOWS that Covid was a debacle because we didn’t “follow the science”. He also KNOWS that there are no more people claiming to be trans now than ever before. Etc. Bari Weiss just defended in her column today Sam Harris’s take that Hunter could have a pile of dead babies in his basement and he would still vote blue. The tribe always wins, no matter what. Watching Biden was uncomfortable from start to finish. I'm sure they'll yank him out at the DNC convention and then use that new candidate to justify another stolen election.
