That's a pathetic success record, but I'm sure plenty of people made a ton of money on all 1,500 attempts.

Once top officials and billionaires stop flying about in jets to international environmental conferences I will take their advice seriously.

Amen! And eat the bugs, drink the sewage, live in a 15 minute city, etc etc etc. You know, if these people actually lived the way they tell everyone else they *have* to live, I would have a bit of respect for them and maybe even take them a bit more seriously...

"eat the bugs, drink the sewage, live in a 15 minute city, etc etc etc. "

Many sane people would say those beliefs set up the believer to a one way ticket to Bedlam whatever their economic status.

The atmospheric CO2 level on earth has varied considerably over time from 5000 ppm by volume 500million years ago down to 200ppm 20,000 years ago. So we are in a historic low CO2 era for the last 40,000 years or so. A rise from 300 to 425 ppm is negligible given earths history. Highest recommended level of CO2 to work in is 10,000 ppm for 8 hrs. Earths temperature history is similar with average temperature ranging from 10 deg. C to 25 deg. C. Right now we are in the 12 deg. C range. According to more practical climatologists the CO2 issue is overblown and not one of the main drivers of temperature change.

Personally I like to eat and as all edible plant life needs CO2 it is our friend.

Actually there was a study done in the last ten years that noted impact on human cognition at levels as low as 1 500 ppm CO2 as I seem to recall. The more critical issue is what is happening with global O2 (1% decline) imo. New bacterial strains hostile to us may be co evolving. Save our species! Plant more trees!

With an exception though. Please don't do it in the Taklamakhan.

I expect our bodies react to small increases in CO2. It is bound to affect our body physiology. I know that during one 4 month stint as a welder in a car factory I shot some CO2 gas from the MIG gun directly into my nostrils and my breathing immediately shut down. I could not draw in a breath until I exhaled and was breathing normal air again.

I doubt that the 63 "good climate policies" had any effect either,

Really, how can anything affect global climate in any way that could be measured with any validity within a meaningful period of time?

Climate varies all the time, we don't know by how much, much less can we determine by how much we can change it for the "good" (whatever that is) or the "bad" (whatever that is).

I speak as an Environmental Scientist, for whatever that means or is of any value.

There is no such thing as a 'climate scientist'- the weather man/woman on TV is the closest thing to one, but do you trust them to tell you what is happening tomorrow, let alone for the next 50 years????

Burn oil or die is the bottom line.

Those who want the human herds off their oil and jet fuel do not intend to stop using it themselves.

How about the grocery store bag ban? Put tons of people out of business, and hey, are those bags you now have to purchase less of a problem? Ever asked a fellow who works at the garbage dump?

Really plastic is now everywhere, not only in soil, rivers and oceans, but even inside our body and detected in breast milk. It is a huge problem.

And, of course, scary plastic straws are going to end life as we know it....

Reminder that nature is more powerful in this equation and adaptation by our species has always been how we survive.

Following the 15 January 2022 Hunga Tonga‐Hunga Ha'apai eruption, several trace gases measured by the Aura Microwave Limb Sounder (MLS) displayed anomalous stratospheric values. Trajectories and radiance simulations confirm that the H2O, SO2, and HCl enhancements were injected by the eruption. In comparison with those from previous eruptions, the SO2 and HCl mass injections were unexceptional, although they reached higher altitudes. In contrast, the H2O injection was unprecedented in both magnitude (far exceeding any previous values in the 17‐year MLS record) and altitude (penetrating into the mesosphere). We estimate the mass of H2O injected into the stratosphere to be 146 ± 5 Tg, or ∼10% of the stratospheric burden. It may take several years for the H2O plume to dissipate. This eruption could impact climate not through surface cooling due to sulfate aerosols, but rather through surface warming due to the radiative forcing from the excess stratospheric H2O."

Last I checked, H2O is water vapor. And yes, the amount of water vapor in the atmosphere has a greater effect on heat retention than any other gas. That is why clouds are an important part of the earth's climate.

Expand full comment

Bingo. That's why the atmospheric physicists took care to distinguish the normal sulfur particle volcanic eruptions from Hunga Tonga.

And, should they, the geoengineering folks be increasing K-feldspar dust at high altitudes....who knows? Does it increase water vapor in the stratosphere?

It seems to me that it is not the European Parliament but EU government bureaucrats who are simply trying to expand the scope of their work, in other respects too. This is the nature of bureaucracy.

Dane is great, as far as he goes. But all he does is tell us that chemtrails are real and they are destroying lots of things. It is important to go further: who is doing it, what are they trying to accomplish, and how do citizens stop it? RFK, Jr. promised to stop them if he gains a high office.

And I agree about Dane. But I dont believe RFK is a savior. In his speech switching to Trump, he didn't say anything about that or vaccines.

Keep up the good work Miss Nass

The war on drugs. The war on poverty. The war on starvation. The war on health. The war on "climate change". (And there's many more where those came from). Since I was a child I've heard nothing but how government is going to save us from every single thing that affects people negatively. NONE of the hundreds of programs world wide have fixed anything. Oh yes, there have been a few improvements here and there but, for the most part, things have actually gotten worse since government has stuck it's hands in all of these things. Now we have Kamala with ads saying (paraphrased) that she is going to "fix" the climate! Why do people fall for this stuff? Since when has giving (without our consent) more money to government *ever* fixed anything? Typically we end up getting more of what they are "fixing"! I would wager that if they stopped harping about all of these things, many of them would go away on their own, or the *people* would find solutions. As for climate... until we are able to control the sun, control the tilt and rotation of the earth, and control the tides (all of which are major drivers of "climate" on the planet) we will be at the whim of mother nature. Turn off the news. Turn off the scary weather apps. Remember it's hot in the summer and cold in the winter and storms and weather events have happened for eons. If we ignore this crap, we'll all be much better off.

The "war" on nature has been a liberal progressive construct since William James Pragmatism was brought forward in philosophical thinking at Harvard last century. The damages from headlong pursuit of that method and ignoring the Precautionary Principle gave us technocratic blunders like forest fire suppression to "save the forests", allowable levels of toxins like fluoride in drinking water to "prevent cavities", injecting cattle so they gain weight but causing antibiotic resistance in humans. And more just so we can say we are doing a great job. Look around us...might as well be in a Monty Python skit with an attack rabbit and the deployment of the holy hand grenade. Lol.

Marxist/Communist revolutions have always started by starving the populace. Starving people are SO much easier to control. Therefore in this piece Monbiot (a dedicated NWO climate campaigner) and Farrar (now "Chief Scientist" at the UN) simply LEAVE OUT the main weakness of their "climate crisis" narrative. They take it for granted that atmospheric CARBON causes climate change. But the awful truth (which they desperately don't want us to GET) is that atmospheric CARBON actually has little or nothing to do with climate change: https://breakingviewsnz.blogspot.com/2023/03/dr-susan-pockett-obliterating-climate.html

The useful idiot IPCC fearmongers' junk climate models were analysed by an ex-french government official who alas masters atmospheric physics and the CLIMATE BS hot-aired out by ControlFreaks and mentally deficient oddballs like the infamous Antonio Guterres🗣️💩📢at the United Nations, and he did his mathematical calculations based on the IPCC's worst-case scenario....and laughably he discovered that the poisonous plant food emanating from the ghastly fossil fuel industry that's afforded billions of humans a too high quality of life Co2, could increase global temperatures by one 10 000th of a degree Celsius😂🤣😂. MAX📈.

In politically correct France, this kind of important information is NEVER allowed to trespass onto the public medias which are padlocked and controlled by France's OfficialSpeak CENSORS🙉🙈🙊!!!

In other words, as the great Ned Nikolov Phd has oh so often repeated, Co2 of course has NOTHING whatsoever to do with changing weather conditions or planetary temperature decreases or increases. But SCHHHHH, this is a terrible secret that must never be repeated in any shape or form!!
