The Washington Compost

They have an agenda, and a harmful one at that. I came to that conclusion after becoming a subscriber in 2015 or 2016, and ultimately cancelled my sponsorship. Read thousands of articles, wrote hundreds of comments, was occasionally censored and eventually walled out.

It was no surprise to me to read that they were part of BBC's so-called "Trusted News Initiative," partners in the COVID-era crimes of MSM. For their betrayal, WaPo richly deserves to slide into the abyss, to be replaced with more honest pubs like the Epoch Times, who refused to participate in the Democide. I'll shed zero tears for WaPo, counting them among the journalistic subversives and demoralizers Yuri Bezmenov warned about in the 80s.

I read just a while ago that the doj is going after the Epoch Times! but I guess living in a police state is a small price to pay to live in a free country...

Expand full comment

We can only hope that when this DOJ shows itself for what it is, that enough people see it for what it is. We can hope that DOJ's tyranny is born of desperation, and marks a turning point for the better.

In good old Blighty, of course, the government's propaganda arm the "much-loved" BBC has blanket coverage, and you're not supposed to watch other TV channels without a BBC licence. However, many have stopped renewing their licences - easily done as the BBC has gone downhill since the 90s.

I would've just clicked 'like' but substack hasn't let me like posts or comments in more than two weeks (and it's not just me). so I'm doing this, instead. it doesn't happen to everyone but it's gone on so long they must be doing it on purpose. why? is it a form of 'isolation?' do they want people to think few others agree with them? is substack turning into another narrative lackey? 'the washington compost' is great (the name, not the paper), though!

I -finally- downloaded the latest iOS update, and can again like, plus other things the i could not before. I am never in a rush for these updates, as they change everything, and usually not for the better.

Expand full comment

I can "like" in the Activity stream, and I can "like" the top level article. But as with you, I have been unable to "like" within the Comment stream for weeks now. And I think that's a little weird.

Expand full comment

more than a little...

Same here-no upvotes at all

Expand full comment

Same for me when I use my phone, it doesn't let me like comments. On my computer, no problem.

I don't go online with my phone so I don't know what would happen there for me, but I can't like/upvote comments on the only computer I use to access 'personal stuff' (eg substacks, social media, email, etc.).

We turn off cellular data on our phones (using it outside the house and only in case of need). To avoid microwaves we started by switching off the wifi router (that uses 5G as well), at first using ethernet cables to connect all the PCs/printers/TV around the house, but then we discovered powerline adapters that enabled us to easily connect through wires also our tablets and smartphone to any electrical plug around the house (using ethernet to USB adapters).

OOh, how interesting, I'm going to try it

Same with me.

Can "like" whatever I wish at my desktop computer. But not on my cell -- unless I'm in the "Activity" tab where only the replies to my comments appear and can be "liked."

I can also "like" a main article with my cell (but not any of the comments).

As a former victim of Trump Derangement Syndrome, I fell for the propaganda in 2016 that said we all needed to support liberal media and dutifully subscribed to both WaPo AND the NY Times. Over the next two years I noticed that all their headlines were practically identical, so I cancelled my NYT subscription. As the Covid debacle unfolded, the scales finally fell from my eyes and I cancelled WaPo as well. Both papers are a travesty -- along with the rest of the so-called Trusted News Initiative and mainstream outlets -- and it's painful that I didn't see it sooner. So many lies.

At least you see it now and have the courage to admit it. I too believed way too much until the Covid debacle. It is quite shocking when you begin to see clearly. So many lies and for so long. It's not easy being awake, but we are living in this time for a reason.

What is the secret sauce that removed the scales from your eyes?

Expand full comment

It's been a long process, really, so I think the seeds were planted over many years. But when I had the subscriptions, I got irritated with the reporting -- they'd have some sensationalist headline, but then the article wouldn't really support that. The increasingly incendiary/divisive writing bothered me, too. But with Covid, something seemed really off to me right away. What we were being told didn't make sense. It was a gut feeling as much as anything. So I started seeking out alternative sources of information. The more I looked, the more I found. And once I realized how lockstep all the mainstream sources were (and learned about things like the Trusted News Initiative, a misnomer if ever there was one), I stopped reading or believing anything they said. Now I just look at the headlines to get a sense of the garbage they're putting out -- at least it's helpful to know the direction the propaganda is heading!

You see a lot of folks coming around as the MSM simply does not reflect the reality in their lives. Long but impressive interview of Sachs by Tucker. Sachs is a foreign economic professor who starts by giving the full story on Ukraine and ends with lots of detail about Covid. This guy has been in the room with so many of the shakers and movers, but he got cancelled for destroying the Ukraine narrative on national news.

I think Sachs (lover of WHO and UN) is angling for a govt job where he can help move the globalist agenda along. Don't forget his central role in the rape of Russia in the 1990s. He sounds good now. What does he whisper to Tedros and Klaus Schwab?

Expand full comment

Seems a similar approach can be taken with many of those who have profound experience and now dissent. Robert Malone just for starters. I only watched the link provided once but your comment will send me back with an eye to flushing out his nefarious past, in his current remarks.

It is in psychopath's nature to be the most convincing of liars. We really need some research done on this topic. That it has not been, is a sign of who is in charge of our research grants!

So I'm sure you have good reason but start at 1:35:47 of the above video and then tell me its all bs, this guy is still whatever it was you judged him to be 30 years ago. Please. He specifically talks about how the congressional approval hearings would go if he were ever to seek a gov job.

Expand full comment

What would be most fascinating to me is how his Covid opinions are wrong. That part starts at 1:48. He speaks of a defuse program by DARPA that is not familiar.

Expand full comment

Thanks for that recommendation. I saw that he'd done that interview but wasn't sure I should listen; I will now. And yes, I didn't even have defined views about vaccines before all this happened (besides a half-guilty avoidance of flu shots), but after copious reading on the subject I have become a confirmed--and may I say, highly informed--anti-vaxxer. So count me as someone who definitely changed their mind.

Watch www.rumble.com many good content creators there.

Alex Jones is a wild one, but his predictions and his guests are frequently correct.

Other presenters on www.Rumble.com are Dr Jane Ruby, Dr Ana Michelcea, Dr Ardis , Maria Zeee, Glen Greenwald (Edward Snowden journalist), among others exposing many things censored on You Tube, Golum Google etc.

Yeah agreed Rumble has good content, unfortunately just not popular enough right now to get attraction from most people. It’s scary how accurate Alex Jones can be sometimes, unfortunately the Sandy Hook ordeal will be/and is made to completely swear his credibility. Shawn Ryan Show is a great podcast I look to to hear about international and domestic affairs. Lmk if you have any other good recs for channels on rumble.

Agreed about the sandy hook ordeal.

But Alex was correct about exposing the “crisis acting simulations” that are frequently deployed across the country. Awareness of this is important to avoid falling for “false flag “ scams.

The trillion $ court outcome against Alex Jones in CT, is a joke though and mockery of our justice system. He was muzzled and not allowed to defend himself against the facts of the accusations.

And the fact that the CIA has been caught on camera this year saying they wanted to bring Alex down tells you he touches a raw spot on exposing the global deep state plans.

and token credit (and eligibility for money) for patents when they approve drugs put forth by drug companies. I question how Fauci can withold the amount of this money he personally received and for what, since he was in the employ of the federal government, using his position and influence to help gain approval, and taking advantage of this largesse.

When there was consderation of having it repealed, both government employees and lobbyists for the drug manufacturers fought it.

I've always thought the Washington Post was some kind of "loss leader" ... A business or business person buys a company that will lose money because it will help another one of his businesses make more money - or lose less money. Owning X company advances the interests of another division of the parent company.

If you own the Washington Post, you have great leverage or influence with the real 900-pound gorilla in our world - the U.S. government.

How much $ are Amazon and Bezos making from various other federal government contracts? How do policies made in Washington protect Amazon from competition or from harassment from the federal government?

Bezos must be very smart ... so surely he knew that The Washington Post (and every newspaper in America) would bleed money. But he still bought the newspaper.

Maybe the CIA or The Deep State needs the Washington Post to continue as a viable concern so it needs that paper to be owned by someone who can lose hundreds of millions of dollars every year. That owner will be rewarded in other ways for keeping that newspaper opened.

The same dynamic probably applies to the NY Times and many other prominent Narrative-producing and protecting corporate news organizations.

Expand full comment

All - or almost all - of the major and influential "news organizations" are now owned by major corporate conglomerates, which all lose vast sums of money on these "news" organizations. These parent companies are propped up by mega investors like Black Rock.

My thought is that the Deep State, which is real, has to have this narrative-controlling operation (which includes making sure all of the "news organizations" will never perform real investigative journalism). If this dynamic didn't exist, all the official narratives that control the world's population might not be possible.

On their own - based on profit and losses - they'd all go out of business. This would be a nightmare for the world's real rulers, who make sure they don't go out of business.

It's a massive - and very expensive - protection racket. But this racket makes possible everything else that's very important to these people.

Meryl - thanks for all your excellent work. keep your posts coming. Be sure all the efforts you make to educate us are transmitted by folk like to me to my family and friends. One big problem with propagandists, and liars in general, is their arrogance; because lying has worked for them in the past they believe that it always will. If they had the least historical sense - such as James Corbett has - they might appreciate that most of us prefer truth to propaganda and will vote with our feet rather than waste our time reading it. Same with marketing. I am surprised they have even 50% left.

Expand full comment

Propaganda works until it doesnt work. People are seeing thru the lies. Its a problem when you kill millions of people & still try to hide it in the mainstream media.

Expand full comment

I just read how shitlibs are outraged by the Post going to hire more conservative journalists. Yeah it’s best to get your news from a one sided outlet that always confirms what you already believe. Let’s not let the other side offer their opinion.

The fairness doctrine used to make media have people from both sides on, but Clinton did away with that.
