A peaceable solution is desired, but not likely. So many places to pray for peace. Perhaps it is naive of me to think that… someone always wants to be ‘in charge’. Whether it is the UN, EU, NATO, US, Israel, Turkey, China, Rome, BRICS… Arab states.

“You know well that [the British] government always kept a kind of standing army of news writers who without any regard to truth, or to what should be like truth, invented & put into the papers whatever might serve the minister. This suffices with the mass of the people who have no means of distinguishing the false from the true paragraphs of a newspaper.”

-T Jefferson, to G. K. van Hogendorp, Paris, Oct. 13, 1785

I believe 'Ol T.J. may have been blaming the wrong party since the Brit government was at the time (and still is) under the control of the globalist mafia of the time, just like Uncle Sam today. The government gets the blame while the mafia gets the goodies.

It's an old but apparently very effective trick amongst many.

Notice that the BBC map omits the recent invasion of Syria by Israel. Now why would they do that?

If you want the best maps of wars, you go to the mysterious "LiveMaps." of all the world's wars and conflicts. https://syria.liveuamap.com/#google_vignette I'm convinced these maps are produced by U.S. military intelligence. Live maps shows the Israel invasion, which is not that big. Up until a few days ago the live map also showed about 6 pockets of Syria which were under the control of ISIS. The U.S. bombed ISIS after the rebels took Damascus. Now those ISIS areas have disappeared off the map, which could be interpreted as ISIS has now allied itself with HTS, the extremist Sunni group leading the rebels which is trying to get away from it's past as part of Al-Qaeda. Or it could mean the U.S. military considers ISIS and HTS to now be the same. The ISIS pocket even disappeared from the area the Kurds recently took over. The U.S. allied with the Kurds to crush ISIS in eastern Syria some years ago. Syria could not eliminate the ISIS pockets which have stayed quiet in the mostly desert areas of former government control. . ISIS has remained very quiet after the rebels took over. Now that Trump has seemingly abandoned the Kurds, the Kurds are coming under attack from Turkey and their proxy rebel Syrian army. And they are being attacked by Muslims groups. If the U.S. withdraws air support the Kurds could eventually be crushed.

The other thing that is sort of silly about the BBC map is it shows some "unidentified" rebel group that has sprung northwards from the U.S. military base Al-Tanf on the southern Syrian border. It's called the "deconfliction zone." The zone that Russian mercenaries and Syrians tried to penetrate a few years ago before U.S. planes destroyed them. Of course somebody knows who those rebels are coming out of Al-Tanf, but apparently the BBC did not know for some reason.

This BBC map is simply not reliable and looks made up.

Thanks! But, The map you suggested does not distinguish the area of the Golan Heights that Israel already occupied from what it has taken in the past week.

I'd love to post better maps if you have any other ideas.

Thanks. Doesn't surprise me a bit.

The BBC, like all "Big (Legacy) Media," appears to be nothing more than a propaganda and truth twisting medium; a mouthpiece for the global mafia.

Also, these foreign wars tragic as they are, have the effect of turning our attention away from the economic wars that have long been taking place right here in the USA such as the consolidation, by various means, going on with our food supply right now. We are slowly being strangled while the stage is being set for the threat of famine.

Thank you.

Here is the link to the BBC article, with details of the rebel advancements and more maps, including Israel's strikes--I was curious to know.

In another indication of how behind the times the BBC maps are in the article which contained the map Meryl posted, it still shows Manbij as being under the control of the Kurds along with a lot of nearby territory 2 days ago. Manbij was lost to the Turkish proxy rebel army long before that map was published. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2024_Manbij_offensive

The BBD simply does not have good maps.

I’m sorry! I didn’t realize you were being sarcastic and satirical! I think it must be the PTSD kicking in! Your implied statement that the worst thing the Israeli government has done to the Palestinians was to withhold the vax made me see red, not laugh at the irony. I should have known when you referred to Israel as the most moral country in the world. Silly me☺️

If the Israeli government had known that research would later be published showing either no negative relationship between vaccination rates and excess mortality (suggesting the vaccines might have been at best ineffective) or unexplained excess mortality following the vaccine roll-out in the younger Israeli demographic that was at low risk from covid (suggesting the vaccines might be causing the excess mortality), they probably would have vaccinated the Palestinians wholeheartedly while merely going through the motions, without making much effort, of vaccinating their own population for virtue signalling purposes.

Sorry, I must have PTSD from all the lies and tyranny to which we have been subjected over the last few years. I didn’t express myself very well. I meant to ask: ‘Are you a victim of the pervasive brainwashing or a perpetrator of the same?’ Thank you, have a very nice evening!

If Israel liberates farming lands and natural resources then any of the local population who survive the liberation and who choose to remain in order to help Israel put those lands and resources to good use should be properly treated. Many may choose to emigrate to the US or Europe. Israel will have to decide whether or not to require any of the local population who do remain behind to receive mRNA vaccinations in order to be able to remain. Israel was criticized for not vaccinating the Palestinians while at the same time being a world leader in giving Pfizer shots to its own people. Israel can pre-empt any such criticism by vaccinating the Arabs and showing how humane it is,

It's probably an attempt at sarcasm or satire which seem not to work very well in comment sections. Also, good satire is amusing and clever, which that isn't.

Okay then Goeff, if you're just going to accept the norms of what the pseudoauthorities say about how the standards for "proper" and "appropriate sarcasm and satire apply and where it does and does not seem to work very well, show us how it "should" be done.

I'm always happy to learn from those who know best how things "should" be done.

I realize my attempts at sarcasm and satire can vary in quality.

As someone who's often "liked" my attempts at sarcasm and satire in comment sections, despite your assertion now that such attempts don't seem to work very well in comment sections, show us some good satire, which is clever and amusing, while also pointing to the disingenuousness of Israel's typical virtue signalling while it engages in aggression and disproportionate overreactions and conducts its opportunistic and exploitative land grabs, is done.

Do you have any acceptable evidence to back up your assertion that most of my statements are bullshit? No? I thought not. Israel as the most moral and altruistic nation on earth needs to pre-empt criticism after it liberates the farming land and natural resources. Here's a bit of a history refresher for you

I think you’ll find the Kurds have reclaimed their lands they have lived in for thousands of years but were denied a homeland when BP carved up the region in 1920s … Kurds fought ISIS with us forces and women fighters were formidable. They brought peace and freedom to communities in the north despite Turkish opposition.

Israel should not annex Damascus or any land to the north of it if it would cause too much trouble. it stops just south of Damascus the cries of outrage will eventually settle down somewhat and Israel will have gained much sought after lebensraum Other than the USA, Israel has very little land outside its original borders.

We are watching a tremendous strategic defeat for Russia, BRICS, and multi-polarity that even the seemingly informed commentators like Scott Ritter, Craig Murray, Larry Johnson, Douglas MacGregor, Andrei Martyanov, Ray MacGovern as well as the host of pro-Arab analysts (who maintain their hopefulness and minimize the significance of what is happening) fail to grasp. The best account in my opinion is from John Helmer, whose embedded audio interview is well worth your time. Putin's greatness as a statesman is hobbled by his incapacity to use decisive military violence when it is urgently needed and to understand that even his BRICS' friends who have urged caution, restraint and negotiations would accede to and be glad of his military success. https://johnhelmer.net/the-kremlins-oprichniki-versus-the-general-staffs-prigozhniki-in-the-new-time-of-troubles/ https://johnhelmer.net/the-new-time-of-troubles-part-ii-putin-overruled-the-general-staff/print/
